A publication influenced by cultural theories that examine broader patriarchal structures where female anger is pathologized, reframed as unnatural or self-destructive rather than as a legitimate response to harm or oppression.

With the trend of female rage growing in contemporary media, it is crucial to acknowledge how it has been historically treated. Examining how the music industry either fails to respect women’s rage or commodifies it as a passing trend rather than recognising it as a legitimate critique of patriarchal injustices.

Through this project, I explored the different intersections of female rage; its history, racial disparities, case studies, and the modern-day lack of authenticity. My narrative weaves these contexts together, telling a story of the female experience over time and leaving viewers with a glimpse into the future of women’s rage in the media.
